Coal Loader Wharf

Completed in 20 weeks for client Port Waratah Coal
Services through head contractor Transfield Constructions,
this project was valued at $1,500,000
The precast wharf structure is approximately 300m long
and consists of a pair of primary coal loader runway
beams connected by permanent formwork slabs.
In total, 80 beams of mass up to 45 tonnes and 120
slabs formed the skelatal structure of the wharf.
High performance concrete of marine durability
classification was used throughout. The project required the provision of concrete using
aggregates not susceptible to AAR/ASR reactivity.
